Police officer’s son kills brother in Ondo

Tragedy struck on Monday night in the Onigbara River Community in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State as a man, identified only as Emmanuel, killed his brother, Daniel during a heated argument.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the suspect and culprit are sons of a police officer known as ‘Awilo’ in the area.

The cause of the argument remains unknown, however sources within the community confirmed that Daniel launched a fatal attack on his brother first.

A resident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said, “We still don’t understand what exactly happened between them. It’s shocking that a quarrel could end like this.”

The incident was confirmed by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, who disclosed that the Commissioner of Police had ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Akure for a thorough probe.

Meanwhile, the Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a woman, Augustina Mowari, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death during a dispute over suspected infidelity.

It was gathered that incident occurred on Sunday in Okitipupa, the administrative headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, the suspect was taken into custody shortly after the crime and is currently being held as investigations continue.

Ayanlade added that the suspect has been arrested, and the command has commenced a full investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
