Former presidential spokesman Reno Omokri has expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Mexico.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Omokri praised the President, describing him as a “man with a heart of gold” and “a most Christlike individual” with the capacity to forgive and forbear.
“I sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for my ambassadorial posting,”
“This is a man with a heart of gold, and as I have previously said, the President is a most Christlike individual, with the capacity to forgive and forbear,” Omokri wrote.
The former presidential spokesman also thanked his foster parents, Esijolomi and Omerewumi, whom he credited with moulding him into the person he is today.
He further expressed gratitude to his biological parents, his wife Hana, and his friend Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
The ambassadorial posting comes as Omokri prepares to embark on a six-day climb to Mount Kilimanjaro to hoist Nigeria’s flag on the summit of Africa’s highest mountain.
Omokri highlighted Nigerias achievements under President Tinubu’s leadership, citing the country’s hosting of the largest single tourist event in Africa in 2025, Detty December, which attracted 1.2 million tourists to Nigeria in December 2025 alone.
“Nigeria is rising under the present administration, as demonstrated by the hosting of the largest single tourist event in Africa in 2025, Detty December, which attracted 1.2 million tourists to Nigeria in December 2025 alone, without a single death, robbery, or domestic incident,” he wrote.
Omokri pledged his loyalty to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to President Tinubu, vowing to serve and market Nigeria to the best of his ability.
“I devote my life again and afresh to Nigeria to be faithful, loyal, and honest and to serve and market Nigeria to the best of my ability, so help me God,” he wrote.
Recall that Tinubu, in a statement by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, had earlier approved the posting of 65 Nigerian ambassadors to different countries.
Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmud Yakubu, was posted to Qatar, Femi Fani-Kayode was posted to Germany.
Senator Jimoh Ibrahin was posted to the United Nations; former Chief of Army Staff and Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau was posted to China, while ex-Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is the new ambassador to Spain.
