Super Eagles hold first training in Cairo ahead of AFCON

The Super Eagles will kick off their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with their first official training session on Monday at the main bowl of the Cairo International Stadium.

The team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, made this known in a statement on Monday, adding that the training will start at 8pm local time today.

11 players are currently at the team’s base, Renaissance Hotel in Cairo.

12 more players are expected to arrive before tonight’s training.

The camp officially opened on Sunday with Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro among the early arrivals.

Nigeria will take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in a Pre-AFCON friendly on Tuesday.

They will fly to Morocco after the game to continue their preparation for the competition.

The players in camp are Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Akinsanmiro Ebenezer, Amas Obasogie, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igho Ogbu, Tochukwu Nnadi and Zaidu Sanusi.
