President Bola Tinubu on Thursday departed Abuja to commence a 10 days working leave in Europe.

The development was announced in a statement on X by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Thursday.

In the terse statement, Onanuga wrote, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today, September 4, to commence a working vacation in Europe, as part of his 2025 annual leave. The vacation will last 10 working days.

Recall that the president recently returned to the country following diplomatic engagements in Japan and Brazil.

Tinubu attended the opening ceremony and plenary of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) on August 20 in Japan.

He held bilateral meetings and rounded off with an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community.

Following the conclusion of TICAD 9, he departed Yokohama for a stopover in Los Angeles before proceeding to Brasília.

In Brazil, he met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and senior Brazilian officials.
‎
‎The two leaders held private discussions and oversaw the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding.
‎
‎The MoUs spanned aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture—key sectors in Nigeria’s development agenda.
