Tonto Dikeh wasn’t my friend before I married Churchill, says Rosy Meurer

Gambia-born Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has taken to social media to address rumors about how she met her husband, Olakunle Churchill, and quash reports of a digital rift between them.

In a series of videos posted to her Instagram page early Wednesday, Meurer addressed claims that she met Olakunle Churchill through his ex-wife Tonto Dikeh, and denied allegations that she had unfollowed her husband on social media.

She clarified that she and Tonto Dikeh were never friends and had never even met, contradicting public perception that they were once close associates.

Meurer said, “I was never my husband’s ex’s friend, not to talk her best friend, I have never met her, I have never seen her, she doesn’t have my number, I don’t have her number, and she’s like 8 to 9, 10 years older than I am.”

She also challenged anyone with evidence of a prior friendship between the two women to come forward, saying, “I have read comments where people have sent to me that I was her best friend, or she introduced me to her husband, and I snatched him or something.

“I am telling you guys, you are hearing it from the horse’s mouth. If anyone has proof, you know, or otherwise, I dare you to bring it out. I don’t even know her, I’ve never met her, so when I see comments like ‘she’s your best friend,’ ‘she introduced you to her husband, and you snatched him,’ you’re so wicked, you’re so this, nothing like that happened. I met my husband separately from that other life that he has,” she added.

Responding to the viral reports that she recently hit the “unfollow” button on Churchill’s profile, the actress provided video evidence of her current “following” list.

In the clip, Meurer demonstrated her active connection to his page and showed the duration of their digital relationship.

She said, “So if I show you my phone here and I click on my husband’s page, it shows that I am following him, and if I click following, it gives me an option to unfollow.

“So how am I unfollowing my husband? If I also click on here, I hope you can see it on the three dots; it states how long we’ve been following each other or when we started following each other. It shows how long we’ve been following each other. So I’m a bit lost.”

“I have no reason to unfollow my husband,” she added. “I did not unfollow my husband. I don’t know what technical issue. I don’t know what games, you know, anyone’s playing somewhere underground because it’s so convenient like that, today of all days it just happened that I unfollowed my husband.”

Meurer’s comments come just weeks after Dikeh and Churchill officially ended their decade-long feud, which was marked by a public reunion with their son, King Andre.

Churchill was reported to have tied the knot with Meurer in 2019, and the couple welcomed their first child and Churchill’s second son in 2021.
