United Nigeria Airlines has confirmed that social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as “VeryDarkman” (VDM), and Comedian Freedom Okpetoritse A tsepoyi, also known as “Mr. Jollof” during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport on Monday.
The airline noted that the crew responded promptly to de-escalate the situation, prioritizing the safety of all on board, and both passengers were handed over to airport security operatives for further investigation.
“Both individuals were deboarded and handed over to security to ensure a safe and secure environment for all,” United Nigeria Airlines said in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloma.
He stated that the airline has a zero-tolerance policy for any conduct that threatens the security or well-being of passengers or crew, and is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and secure travel experience.
Uloka added that the flight departed safely after all standard procedures were completed, with the passengers involved in the altercation remaining with the authorities.
