Drama unfolded at 30,000 feet as Nigerian media personality, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, and social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, aka Verydarkman (VDM) were involved in a physical fight aboard a commercial flight.
The viral video on Monday showed the duo trading blows inside a United Nigeria Airlines flight reportedly travelling from Asaba, Delta State, to Lagos.
VDM and Mr Jollof’s feud dates back, with online tensions flaring after VDM’s explosive allegations about the comedian’s wife and alleged infidelity with cyber fraudsters, igniting a social media firestorm.
Confirming the altercation, VDM took to his Facebook page shortly after the incident, boasting that he had “dealt with” Mr Jollof.
In a follow-up video, he lifted his shirt to display bite marks on his torso, saying, “He bite me… man wey dey bite, he no shame. They beg am. I enter plane, I see am. I say, ‘You go slap me today o.’ I go near am, he punch me. He don spoil my tattoo now with him teeth wey he no brush.”
He also mocked the comedian, adding, “I don chop Jollof father for inside plane.”
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, has reached out for more info on the in-flight drama, seeking to investigate the fracas between VDM and Mr Jollof.
