Veteran entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has urged Nigerians to focus more on the 2027 elections and not allow themselves to be distracted.
The entertainer was reacting to the recent renaming of the popular Charly Boy Bus Stop in Lagos after indigenous rapper and music executive, Olamide.
Charly Boy further called for a shift in national discourse toward electoral integrity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the veteran, who spoke on Channels Television on Tuesday, the distractions dominating public attention are unnecessary.
“I don’t know why they do the things they do, but it seems to me silly and petty
“Those are not the things we should be talking about right now. Those are not priorities. What our priority should be is about the 2027 election will our vote count? That’s what I think we should be talking about,” he stated.
