Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has berated the coalition under the platform of the party and led by former Senate President, David Mark.
Abejide spoke to some party members in Kogi State on Friday, where he addressed the newly formed coalition.
The lawmaker, who represents Yagba federal constituency in Kogi described himself as a strong member of the ADC and urged the attendees to join hands with him to chase out members of the coalition from the party.
He told party members present at the meeting that members of the coalition came to hijack the ADC for personal gains.
He said, “I’m a strong member of the original ADC not coalition ADC. I equally want to tell you that we shall join hands to chase out political marauders that came from the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, disgruntled members of the All Progressive Congress, and even from our party, the ADC.
“I have watched their characters closely and now it’s certain to me that they came to hijack the structure of the party, suppress the original members and use the party to achieve their aims and objectives.”
Abejide said the scenario in Kogi State was that “those who came through the window yesterday are now claiming to be the leaders of ADC in Kogi. When I was nursing the party, where were they?”
He vowed not to allow the strangers in the ADC to destroy their party “the way they destroyed their former political parties”.
Abejide also called on loyalists of all political parties to support the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
