Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has opened up on the reason he will never join some Nigerians to celebrate the death of former Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari.
Recall that Buhari died on Sunday in a London hospital after battling an undisclosed disease.
Following his demise, some Nigerians have taken to the streets and social media to jubilate, claiming that Buhari’s tenure as president destroyed the country.
Reacting, Deji Adeyanju who was in and out cell during the administration of the former president, slammed those who wished Buhari death.
Adeyanju likened them to lunatics, saying, “Of all the insanity of man, the one I can never understand is wishing another man death. I suffered so much during the tenure of Buhari but my close friends and aides will attest to the fact that every time he got sick and was flown abroad for those long trips, I prayed for him.”
In a separate post, the lawyer warned netizens to stay out of trouble by not calling for the death of President Bola Tinubu.
“Try and avoid trouble during this period, please. I hope you notice I added please. Courts are going on vacation soon but if you have coconut head, go ahead. We are here for you all,” he wrote.
