
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has stated the reason the Southwestern state joined the 17th Summit of Heads of State and Government for the Global South and Emerging Economic Bloc.
In a statement on Saturday, the governor, who is presently in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with President Bola Tinubu and some Nigerian leaders disclosed that the summit will create room for partnerships in sectors like industrial growth, agro-processing, renewable energy, and digital transformation, among others.
“In Ogun State, we see the BRICS Summit as far more than a diplomatic event, it is a strategic avenue to unlock tangible economic opportunities. The summit offers us a unique chance to engage in high-level discussions that can lead to impactful partnerships in critical sectors such as infrastructure development, industrial growth, agro-processing, renewable energy, and digital transformation,” Abiodun wrote.
Furthermore, the governor commended President Tinubu for his leadership style, stressing that the Summit will bring value to Ogun and other Nigerian states.
His words, “Our goal is to connect with global investors, strengthen bilateral relationships, and firmly position Ogun State as a hub for sustainable and inclusive investment. With President Tinubu’s purposeful leadership guiding Nigeria’s participation, we are optimistic that the outcomes of this summit will deliver lasting value, especially for forward-looking states like ours that are poised to lead in driving national development.”
