The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has called on all Nigerians to acquire combat skills to protect themselves in the face of danger.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, General Musa likened learning combat skills to driving and swimming, emphasizing that it’s a survival instinct that everyone should possess.
According to the Defence Chief, security is the responsibility of all Nigerians, and citizens should remain situationally aware of their surroundings to identify suspicious individuals.
He also suggested that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) should train Nigerian graduates in unarmed combat skills for day-to-day survival.
General Musa stressed that learning combat skills is essential, regardless of whether there is war or not, and that it should be taken seriously like other essential skills.
He cited examples of European countries where swimming and security education are compulsory, emphasizing the importance of being prepared for any situation.
