Dele Momodu dumps PDP for ADC

Veteran journalist and and former presidential hopeful, Chief Dele Momodu, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Recall that on Wednesday, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in a letter he personal signed and addressed to the Chairman of PDP in Jada 1 Ward, Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, resigned his membership of the party over ideology issue.

Momodu, in a letter dated July 17, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ward 4 Chairman in Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, Momodu cited the hijacking of the PDP by antidemocratic forces as the reason for his decision.

The publisher expressed his gratitude to the party leadership at the ward level for their support over the years.

However, he stated that the PDP’s current state made it necessary for him to leave and join the ADC.

“Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight. It is therefore honorable to abandon the carcass of the party to them while the majority of us earnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” the leter said.
