A lady, identified only as Meena, has stabbed the father of her two children to death in Jakpa Road part of Warri, Delta State, for physically abusing her.
The development was made public in a video posted on X in a video made by Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Command spokesperson on Wednesday.
The suspect, who is from Bayelsa State, revealed that she and the deceased had two male children before his death.
Narrating what led to the altercation, Meena said her late lover was upset that she went to meet their neighbour to help her recharge units on their prepaid meter then pounced on her.
She said it was during the intense beating that she struggled to rise and picked a dagger from the kitchen.
“After he smashed my head on the floor, I went to the kitchen to pick a dagger, he came to meet me there and I stabbed him.”
Asked how she feels now that he has passed away, Meena said, “I’m not happy that he is dead”.
She added that the family of the deceased came to their house to take away their two sons.
Edafe captioned the video, which didn’t show the face of the suspect, “I just interviewd a 21 year old girl who has been cohabiting with a 34 yr old guy for the past four years, she has two children for him. If she’s 21yrs now, which means she started living with this guy since she was 17yrs. Now they had a fight with him, stabbed the guy in the heart and killed him. Who do you blame? The girl, the society or her parent who couldnt raise her and gave her out at 17 without a bride price? Her english is so fluent, and she stopped schooling at SS2.”
During the interview, Edafe advised Deltabs and Nigerians to always have a rethink when they are in a dire situation.
