The Lagos State Government has announced the arrest of four residents of Akowonjo Egbeda area of the state for dumping their refuse in unathorised locations.
The state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab made the announcement in a post he made on X on Thursday.
Wahab identified the suspects as Edache Ngbede, Omanihu Miracle, Sunday Oluwabunmi and Okoro Joy.
He noted that the suspects consisted of three females and a male, who were nabbed by the LAWMA Waste Infraction Surveillance and Investigation Team on the evening of August 13.
He wrote, “On the evening of August 13th, 2025, the LAWMA Waste Infractions Surveillance Team conducted an overnight surveillance operation that resulted in the apprehension of four individuals for the unlawful disposal of waste in unauthorized locations along the Akowonjo Egbeda area of Lagos.
“The suspected offenders have been transferred to the LAWMA legal team for further legal proceedings. The operation lasted till this morning of 14th, of August 2025.”
