Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.

Details of their discussions were unknown.

Special Adviser to the President, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed the visit in a post on his Facebook on Tuesday.

He said, “Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers, now on suspension from office visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on
Tuesday.”

Onanuga released pictures of the visit as well.

President Tinubu had on March 18 declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspended Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the state House of Assembly for six months.

This was following his declaration of emergency in the oil-rich South-South state.

The President made the declaration in a nationwide broadcast.

He said the decision was taken to restore stability in the state that has been witnessing political turmoil as a result of the disagreement between the state governor and the state lawmakers.

The President appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas as the state’s administrator to oversee governance.
