Popular Fuji artiste King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall has revealed that he is a member of the Celestial Church of Christ.

Celestial church is a Pentecostal church within the Aladura movement founded by the late Samuel Bilewu Oshoffa in 1947 in Port-Novo, Benin Republic.

The church is known for its unique blend of African and Christian traditions, including the use of divinely inspired songs and rituals.

Wasiu is, however, known to be a devoted Muslim who frequently visits Saudi Arabia for prayers.

But in an interview with Bamidele Adeyanju also known as Agbaletu, Wasiu said he is a proud member of the church and that he even built a church.

He said, ‘‘Yes, I attend celestial church. I’m a bonafide member of the celestial church and a proud one. I built a church as well. I’m a member of the celestial church. I search for religion and God from both sides.’’

Wasiu Ayinde, who is popularly called K1 Ultimate, also explained the relationship between him and President Bola Tinubu.

While saying he had known the President for many years, he also said both his mother and the President’s mother were bosom friends.

He said, “Asiwaju is my senior in the neighbourhood. If you listen to what he was saying to me when my mother died, you would know how close we are.

“He said my mother and her elder sister (the President’s mother) would have seen by now. That implies that if we didn’t know each other for long, he wouldn’t talk that way.”
