Actress Osas Ighodaro has shared a story about her first on-screen kiss in Nollywood, revealing that an actor attempted to use his tongue without discussing it beforehand.
Speaking on The Culture League podcast, Ighodaro explained that she was prepared for a standard on-screen kiss but was surprised when the actor didn’t follow the expected boundaries.
The actress emphasised the importance of communication before filming intimate scenes, stating that it’s essential to discuss the details of the scene beforehand to ensure both actors are comfortable.
“My first on-screen kiss in Nigeria took me by surprise. Though, I knew the kiss was coming and I was prepared for an ‘on-screen kiss.’
“In my experience, you are not supposed to put your tongue down somebody’s mouth. But the person did. On the basic level, if you are going to do an on-screen kiss you talk about it, ‘Oh I’m going to put my tongue in your mouth.’ But if you don’t talk about it then you know it’s the basics,” she explained.
