The Nigeria Police Force has released human rights activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore.
The development was confirmed by the publisher in a post he made on his X account on Friday.
He announced his freedom from police custody, adding that the Force and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) unlawfully detained him.
Sowore expressed gratitude to supporters who stood by him during his detention.
He, however, said that his freedom was “nothing to celebrate” as the struggle for justice continues.
His words, “The Nigeria Police Force and its illegal IGP have capitulated to the demands of the revolutionary movement. I have been released from unjust, unwarranted, and unlawful detention.
“However, it is nothing to celebrate, work tongues, but I can’t do without thanking you all for not giving up. You’ve all seen the power of unity #RevolutionNow.”
