Russia is ready to resume direct negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul on Thursday, as Russian President Vladimir Putin said, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said on Wednesday.
“You know the president’s statement of May 11 that we are ready to begin direct negotiations in Istanbul on May 15.
“Or rather, not even begin, but resume those negotiations that were interrupted by the Ukrainian side at the instigation of Western colleagues and partners,’’ Ushakov told the Rossiya 1 broadcaster.
The Russian delegation in Istanbul would discuss both political and technical issues, and its composition would be determined based on this, the official said.
The venue for the negotiations in Istanbul is handled by the Russian Consulate General and the Turkish authorities, Ushakov said.
