Fashion stylist and influencer Veekee James recently shared a vulnerable side of herself on The Nancy Isime Show.
She revealed that rumors about her allegedly snatching her husband, Femi Atere, from a friend almost drove her to depression.
She noted that the false stories about her marriage were particularly hurtful, recalling feeling broken and scared about how the rumors would affect her personal brand.
“It almost put me in depression. I remember entering my room and I didn’t come out for like two days. I was there crying and praying,” she shared.
However, Veekee found solace in her faith and prayers. She reflected on how God helped her overcome the challenge and eventually learn to laugh off the rumors.
She added, “I reflect, and try to checkmate my actions to see if I was wrong… I ask God to help me and guide me.”
Against her brother’s advice to ignore the troll, James said she confronted those peddling the rumors against her marriage.
On her marriage, Veekee shared that she waited for God’s confirmation before marrying Femi saying, “When I met Femi, I knew that he was the one. I wanted God to confirm that he was the one… And when he did, my ears were blocked. And they are blocked till today or forever.
“I plan to have kids who would be role models in society… I don’t plan to want to make a fun video with my kids where we’re dancing and we’re having fun and then I’m hiding them.”
