The woman seen in a viral video where she was feeding a baby the contents of an alcohol drink sachet has reacted to the backlash from netizens.
Earlier, the woman posted a video where she appeared to be feeding her 5-month-old baby with an alcoholic drink, claiming that she had to feed the baby with the strong drink to induce drowsiness every night.
Following the outrage among Nigerians, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) disclosed that an investigation has been launched to ascertain the truth.
In another video, the lady claimed the content in the alcoholic sachet was Coca-Cola, adding that the empty sachet was washed before she refilled it for entertainment’s sake.
She further posted another video showing her filling the sachet with the soft drink, while also admitting that her motive for filming and uploading the video backfired.
She said, “About the video I posted earlier, that is not Action Bitters. It is Coke. I poured Coke into the sachet. Since I posted the video, people have been dragging me on social media.
“To be sincere, it was Coke I poured into the Action Bitters sachet. I even have a video on my phone showing when I was doing it.
“My baby is just five months old. I would never give her Action Bitters. I am not that kind of mother. I do not even take it myself.
“To clear the air, it was Coke I poured into the sachet, and I washed it before using it. I was just trying to create content, nothing more. We are begging Nigerians, please forgive us.”
