Actors Guild of Nigeria President, Emeka Rollas, confirms the guild has launched an investigation into the ongoing dispute between actress and producer Peggy Ovire and actor Taye Arimoro.

The guild’s president revealed that the matter is already before its disciplinary structures.

“I have initiated an investigation on the matter. I depend on the National Task Force Chairman and disciplinary organs of the Guild to feed me back,” Rollas told Punch.

A viral Instagram Live video earlier this week showed Taye Arimoro alleging assault on Peggy Ovire’s movie set, escalating the conflict between the two actors.

In the footage, Arimoro appeared with noticeable lip swelling and gum injuries, alleging he was attacked by Ovire’s team while trying to leave the set.

However, in an exclusive interview with Saturday Beats, Peggy Ovire stated that the circulating video doesn’t reveal the full story.

According to her, trouble began after Arimoro allegedly assaulted two members of her crew and attempted to leave.

She said, “Arimoro’s video online isn’t the beginning of what transpired between my team and him. It all started after he beat up two members of my team and wanted to leave afterwards.”

Ovire added that Arimoro had no specific call time on the final day of shooting but suddenly walked off set without completing his remaining scenes.

“He left the set, and the Production Manager came to meet him outside and asked him to give us 30 minutes since he had only two scenes left to shoot. Instead, he beat the guy up and still went to social media to paint a one-sided story,” she explained.

The actress said she was inside the building preparing for the last scenes when the altercation began.

Ovire added that the situation escalated after her driver used her vehicle to block Arimoro from driving away, following the alleged assault on the manager.

She noted that the first confrontation occurred directly in front of the apartment, where no cameras captured the incident.

Meanwhile, when Arimoro’s public relations representative, Samuel Ajayi, was contacted, he said the actor is focused on receiving medical care while awaiting clarity from authorities.

“Currently, we are trying to prioritise his well-being, and we are also working hand-in-hand with relevant authorities to have the facts of the case cleared,” he said.
