Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has announced plans to gift gospel artist Chris Vic a plot of land in Uyo, along with a four-bedroom flat and a N100 million music studio, in recognition of his inspiring resilience.
In a post he shared via Facebook on Sunday, Governor Eno directed the Commissioner for Lands to allocate the land, with the Certificate of Occupancy to be signed next week.
In addition to the property, Chris Vic will receive a monthly allowance of N1 million for as long as Eno remains in office.
The governor emphasised that the support is a reminder of God’s goodness, even in challenging times, and a message of care for persons with disabilities.
He noted that the initiative underscores his administration’s commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities and promoting arts in the state.
“Let this remind us that even in difficult moments, God is still good. Chris Vic shows us that praise is possible in every situation. I want him, and all persons with disabilities, to know this government cares,” Eno said.
Chris Vic rose to prominence with his soul-stirring vocals and unwavering faith, despite facing significant personal challenges. Born with a physical disability, Chris has turned his struggles into a powerful testimony, using music as a medium to inspire and uplift his listeners. His raw, emotive performances have resonated deeply within the Akwa Ibom community and beyond, earning him a devoted following.
His big break came with the release of a viral single that captured the hearts of many, showcasing his unique blend of traditional and contemporary gospel sounds. Since then, Chris Vic has been a beacon of hope, using his platform to spread messages of perseverance and gratitude. His music transcends entertainment, serving as a reminder of the power of faith in overcoming adversity. Governor Eno’s recognition of his journey highlights Chris Vic’s impact, both as an artist and as a symbol of resilience.
