President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Super Eagles on their 2-0 victory over Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarterfinals.

In a terse post on Saturday, Tinubu pledged the support of all Nigerians, stating that their performance was inspiring.

He wrote, “Brilliant Performance… Inspiring.
Go, Super Eagles! You have the support of all Nigerians.”

Super Eagles advanced to the semifinals of AFCON after defeating Algeria 2-0 in the quarterfinals match held at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco .

The Nigerian team dominated the game, with Victor Osimhen scoring the first goal in the 47th minute, followed by Akor Adams’ goal in the 57th minute. Nigeria’s strong performance was marked by their possession-based game, with Algeria struggling to cope with their pace and skill.

The win marks a significant milestone for Nigeria, who are now set to face Morocco in the semifinals on January 14. Algeria, on the other hand, will be looking to regroup for future tournaments.
