Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to complete all major ongoing projects in the state, boasting that those who conspired to undermine his government have been unsuccessful.

This was contained in a statement signed by Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to the governor on Friday.

Rasheed noted that the governor made this statement on Thursday evening while addressing the State Executive Council meeting.

He stressed that the governor reviewed the state of governance and declared that the implementation of the five point agenda has recorded appreciable achievements across the sectors, affirming that “our team has succeeded where our detractors failed.

“They plotted but our God plotted for us. They were surprised that we survived the siege they laid on our government and people of Osun state. They are still in shock that our government is still standing by now.

“We have nothing, no power other than the creator of heaven and earth as well as the good people of Osun who gave us a mandate to develop the state. Before God and man, we are upholding our oath of office by rebuilding our towns and villages and by addressing the needs of our people.

“As the governor of this state, I serve only one interest- the aspiration of Osun people for development. In these holy months, we hand over those tormenting Osun people to God to judge between us and them.

“Osun has escaped the siege, the siege of under-development, the burden of infra-deficit and previous anti-people posture by people elected to serve the public. The areas of challenges that remain, we will overcome by the grace of God and the huge goodwill and support of our people”, the governor noted.

The Council debated the implementation of the Osun State Electricity Market law and directed the Commissioner for Energy to raise a proposal for the setting up of the regulatory commission.

The Council praised the implementation of payroll reform under the new administration which has led to the seamless deployment of the World Bank supported SIFMIS and reaffirmed its rejection of Sally Tibbot staff audit report.

The Council also set March 1st, 2026 as the resumption date for the first batch of newly recruited teachers, directing the Commissioner for Education to comply with the deadline.

The Council received reports from the Commissioner for Finance on revenue and tax matters with a directive to the Ministry of Finance and associated agencies to speed up tax reforms and expansion of the revenue base of the state.

On traditional Council matters, the Council set up a five man committee under the Secretary to the State Government to review alleged encroachment and violation of the consenting authorities of leading eight paramount rulers in the state with a view to propose modalities for correcting the violations.
