The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has initiated a drone operating training programme for its staff, aimed at enhancing operational capacity and parking management across the State.

The two-week intensive training initiative is designed to develop and enhance the technical capacity of LASPA personnel, equipping them with the necessary skills for effective drone operation and improved parking management.

This was contained in a statement signed on Wednesday by Dunkwu, O. Sunday, the agency’s Head, Public Affairs.

Sunday quoted the General Manager, LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, to have said the initiative was designed to deepen the authority’s technological capabilities and increase Parking operational efficiency in Lagos State.

She emphasised that the integration of drone technology into parking management, will not only enhance real-time parking monitoring and improve enforcement but increase data gathering and storage.

Adelabu, further noted that the current drone training which is the second in the series, is conducted by the officials of the Parking Authority who had earlier been trained by Tolulope Shosimi, FAA Certified Commercial Drone Pilot from Tolu Shosimi Studios.

The already existing LASPA trainers are to cascade their knowledge to the new teams, accelerating the Authority’s transition toward technology-enabled operations.

The Management of LASPA noted that the programme aligns with the Parking Authority’s core values Technology and Innovation, its commitment to leveraging innovative tools to improve service delivery.

The authority further reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation and capacity building for a more efficient parking management for Lagos State.
