The Nigerian Army has issued an update for candidates successful in the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) 29/2026 Selection Board, directing them to report for officer cadet training later this month.

In a notice on Friday titled “PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT – SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES FOR DIRECT SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION 29/2026,” the Army said the training will take place at the Officer Cadet Training Wing of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, Kaduna State.

According to the announcement, the successful candidates are expected to report on Friday, 27 March 2026.

The Army added that the full list of successful candidates has been published on its recruitment portal at recruitment.army.mil.ng.

The Army also released a set of general instructions for candidates ahead of their arrival at the training facility.

Candidates are required to report to NASI Jaji with several items, including writing materials, original credentials with an online printout showing their passport photograph, three pairs of plain white short-sleeve round-neck vests and royal-blue shorts without stripes, as well as two pairs of pure white canvas trainers.

Other required items include two pairs each of maroon-red round-neck vests and navy-blue tracksuits without stripes, two white and one blue long-sleeve shirts, a black tie and belt, four pairs of white socks and two pairs of black socks, two pairs of black and white trousers, and one dark-coloured lounge suit.

Candidates are also expected to bring two sets of national dress or suits and casual wear, one rubber-strapped wristwatch, one pair of black cover shoes, a swimming trunk, two white bedsheets with pillowcases, one grey or army green blanket, football boots, and a pressing iron.

Female candidates are required to come with additional items, including one pair of black low-heel cover shoes, four dark-coloured lounge skirts, four pairs of tight black or blue shorts, and two pairs of trouser suits.

The Army further directed serving military personnel among the successful candidates to come along with release letters and passes issued by their commanders or commanding officers.

It warned that successful candidates who fail to report on the scheduled date will forfeit their vacancies to candidates placed on the reserve list.

The Army also stated that reserve candidates should not report to NASI Jaji unless they are contacted in the event that vacancies arise.

It added that there will be no vacancy for reserve candidates after 20 April 2026.
