Manchester City on Sunday secured a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium, with Nico O’Reilly scoring a brace in the second half.

The 21-year-old scored his first goal in the 60th minute, capitalising on a mistake by Arsenal goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, and doubled City’s lead just four minutes later with another header.

Pep Guardiola’s men dominated the game, outclassing Arsenal with their trademark possession and high-pressing style.

Despite Arsenal’s strong start, City’s pressure paid off, and they controlled the second half to secure their first trophy of the season.

Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta has been criticised for his team selection, particularly starting Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal instead of David Raya.

The Gunners who have a nine-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, were unable to translate their dominance into goals during the Carabao Cup final.
