The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has concluded arrangements to arraign former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over alleged corruption-related offences.
In a statement issued on Monday in Kaduna, the anti-graft agency disclosed that El-Rufai, alongside one Joel Adoga, will appear before the Federal High Court sitting in the Kaduna Judicial Division on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
According to the commission, the case, marked FHC/KD/73/2026, includes charges bordering on conversion and possession of public property, as well as alleged money laundering.
The ICPC further revealed that a separate suit has been filed against El-Rufai and another defendant, Amadu Sule (LEDA), before a Kaduna State High Court.
The second case, with charge number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26, involves allegations of abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage, among other offences.
The commission noted that both charges were instituted on March 18, 2026, adding that a date for arraignment at the State High Court would be announced later.
It also confirmed that the former governor has been duly served, reiterating its commitment to due process and strict adherence to the rule of law in prosecuting the cases.
