Former Nigeria Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Tunji Isola, has called on his supporters to remain calm and patient following the outcome of the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) State Caucus meeting held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He assured that he is undertaking extensive consultations before announcing his next political move.
In a statement addressed to members of the Sarafa Support Groups, the former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom emphasised the importance of careful deliberation and inclusive decision-making in periods of political transition.
“As a democrat deeply committed to the values of inclusiveness, consultation, and responsible leadership, I wish to assure you that I am actively engaging in broad and meaningful consultations with critical stakeholders and respected voices across our political and social landscape,” he stated.
Isola noted that the consultations were necessary to ensure that any eventual decision aligns with the collective aspirations of the people and contributes to political stability.
“These consultations are essential to ensuring that every decision taken is not only strategic but also reflective of the collective interest, aspirations, and stability of our people,” he added.
The former diplomat, who has remained a prominent figure within the APC in Ogun State, urged his supporters to exercise restraint and maintain confidence in the process, describing the current moment as a critical phase that requires maturity and unity.
“I urge all members of the Sarafa Support Groups to remain calm, steadfast, and confident in the process. Leadership, at defining moments such as this, demands patience, clarity, and a firm commitment to the greater good,” Isola said.
He further assured that a definitive position would be communicated upon the conclusion of the ongoing engagements.
“Upon the conclusion of these wide-ranging consultations, a comprehensive and well-considered position will be formally communicated,” he said.
Reiterating the need for cohesion among his supporters, Isola called for sustained unity and peaceful engagement as political activities continue to unfold in the state.
“Let us continue to uphold unity, peace, and constructive engagement as we navigate this important phase together,” he concluded.
Recall that Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, was on Monday adopted and effectively anointed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State, following a high-level caucus meeting held in Abeokuta.
The decision, reached by party leaders and key stakeholders, is widely seen as a decisive move to consolidate internal unity and streamline the party’s path ahead of the next governorship election.
