Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has confirmed that two of its employees were abducted in Ogun State.
The company disclosed this in a statement issued by its management on Monday and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the Ogun region where the affected staff members were working.
IBEDC expressed concern over the development, saying its thoughts are with the victims and their families during the difficult period.
The company stated that it is collaborating with relevant security agencies to secure the safe release of the abducted workers.
It also noted that it is maintaining close contact with the families of the victims and providing them with necessary support.
“IBEDC confirms that two of its staff members in the Ogun region were abducted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
“We are deeply concerned about this situation, and our thoughts are with our colleagues and their families at this difficult time.
“IBEDC is working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure the safe return of the affected staff. We are also in active engagement with their families, providing the necessary support,” the statement read.
The company added that due to the sensitive nature of the case and ongoing rescue efforts, it would not release further details for now.
IBEDC appealed for public understanding and restraint, assuring that updates would be provided when necessary.
