Keyamo mocks Obi over ADC exit

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Thursday took a swipe at Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his reported exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), using an allegorical post shared on X.

In the post, Keyamo likened the political situation to a relationship drama involving a bachelor and two women, suggesting Obi chose to leave after failing to secure his preferred position.

“Please, allow me to interfere in what does not concern me at all this morning,” Keyamo began.

He wrote, “A bachelor loves a young, beautiful woman so much and thinks she’s actually the best of his girlfriends, but refuses to assure her she’d be the first wife. He proposes to keep her as second wife or side-chick.”

According to Keyamo, the woman, aware of her value, chose to move on to someone who could offer her the commitment she desired.

“The beautiful woman, who knows her worth, has no time to waste waiting for this bachelor and walks away quietly to another suitor who knows her worth and assures her instantly she’d be the first wife,” he said.

The minister further criticized what he described as the bachelor’s angry reaction after losing the woman.

“The bachelor then goes berserk and sends his relatives all over the town to be abusing her. Haba! bachelor, why not just stick with your other woman and let her be?” he added.

Keyamo concluded the post by directly tying the analogy to current political developments, stating: “This is just the case of Peter Obi and the ADC.”

The post has since stirred reactions online, with supporters and critics of both politicians debating its meaning and the growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
