Capital Hotel Plc has reported robust financial results for the year ended December 31, 2025, with revenue climbing by 59 percent and profit after tax up by 32 percent.
The growth was largely driven by consistent patronage at the Abuja Continental Hotel, even as inflation, exchange rate fluctuations, and higher energy costs weighed on businesses nationwide.
At the 45th Annual General Meeting held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Chairman Ramesh Kansagra, said the performance demonstrated the strength and stability of premium hospitality in the capital city.
Shareholders at the AGM lauded the Board and management for the company’s strong performance and for advancing the ongoing refurbishment and modernisation of key hotel facilities, which are designed to elevate guest experience and uphold international hospitality standards.
Representing the Chairman at the meeting, a Director of Capital Hotel Plc, Alhaji Abdulkadir Aminu, appreciated shareholders for their continued support and confidence in the rebuilding and transformation process designed to reposition Abuja Continental Hotel as a leading hospitality destination.
Kansagra noted in his address that while evolving guest preferences and tougher competition in the luxury segment posed challenges in 2025, demand for high-standard lodging, meetings and events in Abuja remained resilient, supporting the company’s earnings.
According the him, the earnings boost also reflects progress on a board-approved upgrade programme for the Abuja Continental Hotel.
Kansagra explained that the refurbishments and infrastructure improvements were intended to uphold global hospitality standards, elevate the guest experience, and reinforce the hotel’s competitiveness.
“These are strategic long-term investments designed to enhance the enduring value of our flagship property, he said.
The chairman noted that disciplined cost control alongside the capital projects allowed the company to convert higher activity into stronger profit margins without reducing service quality.
He said the Board remained optimistic about the future, pointing to Abuja’s role as Nigeria’s political and diplomatic centre as a key demand driver.
Kansagra stated that Capital Hotel Plc would now focus on advancing its refurbishment plan, boosting operational efficiency, and improving service delivery to sustain growth and shareholder returns.
