The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the printing of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) original result slips has not yet commenced, urging candidates to remain patient as necessary post-examination processes are still ongoing.
This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
According to the statement, the delay is due to ongoing administrative procedures following the conclusion of the main UTME and foreign examinations, as well as preparations for a mop-up exercise for candidates who were unable to participate in the earlier conduct of the examination.
The Board stressed that the UTME is not only an assessment tool but also a ranking examination, adding that all relevant processes must be properly finalized before result slips can be made available.
Dr. Benjamin explained that, “The printing of the 2026 UTME Original Result Slip has not yet been activated. Candidates are kindly urged to be patient as the Board has just concluded the foreign examinations and is also preparing to conduct the mop-up examination for candidates who were unable to sit for the main examination through no fault of theirs.
“Candidates are reminded that the UTME is a ranking examination, and the Original Result Slip contains the ranking of candidates. Consequently, all necessary processes must be completed before the slips can be released.
“As soon as the necessary adjustments are concluded, the printing portal will be activated. This will be done shortly, and candidates will be duly informed when to proceed with the printing of their result slips. We sincerely apologise for the delay and appreciate your understanding.”
He further assured candidates that the printing portal would be activated once all necessary adjustments are concluded, and that an official announcement would be made to guide candidates on when to access their result slips.
The statement also conveyed the Board’s regret over the delay, while appreciating candidates’ patience and understanding as it works to ensure a smooth and credible examination process.
Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and fairness in its examination and result management processes.
