The mutilated body of a missing 16-year-old boy, Wahab Lawal has been recovered by the Ogun State Police Command.

Wahab, who stayed with his grandmother, went missing earlier in July 2025 and the case was reported by his father Olumide Lawal.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the state Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, said Wahab’s death is being investigated as a suspected case of ritual murder.

Odutola added that Wahab’s decomposing body was discovered along the Old Express Road, Igbile-Ijebu on July 23.

The police spokesperson said preliminary investigations revealed that the teenager’s head, both wrists, heart, and genitals had been gruesomely removed, suggesting ritualistic motives behind the killing.
