Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has accused the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) of torturing human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.
Earlier, the police was accused of breaking the right hand of the former presidential candidate who was in custody for alleged cyberstalking.
The activist was captured in a viral video having a bandaged arm.
However, the police, late Friday said Sowore was not subjected to torture while in custody, claiming the video was “mischievously presented to mislead the public and stir unwarranted outrage”.
Reacting, Adeyanju in a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, said the Force lied, insisting that Sowore was tortured in custody.
He wrote, “You are a liar. The Nigeria police headed by the illegal IGP Egbetokun, the most useless IG in the history of the NPF tortured SOWORE and broke his hands. And you will all pay for your crimes”.
