Benue Assembly elects Emberga as new speaker

The Benue State House of Assembly has elected Hon. Berg Afled Emberga, to replace Hon. Aondona Dajoh as the House’s new Speaker.

This follows the resignation of Dajoh, which he announced on Sunday afternoon amid a week-long leadership crisis that rocked the Assembly.

Emberga, representing Makurdi North Constituency, was elected during a sitting that began at about 4:30 p.m. and ended around 7 p.m.
