The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Ekiti State has donated N10 million to Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election campaign.

The donation was made during a meeting at the Governor’s office in Ado-Ekiti.

The cheque was presented to Governor Oyebanji by NULGE President, Oluseyi Olatunde, on behalf of the workers. Olatunde said the financial contribution demonstrates the workers’ unshaken confidence in Oyebanji’s leadership.

The NULGE President described Oyebanji’s administration as “a golden era” for workers in the state. He cited various achievements, including payment of salary arrears, regular payment of deductions, and construction of ultra-modern office complexes.

According to Olatunde, the local government workers’ support for Oyebanji’s re-election is driven by the governor’s commitment to their welfare. He said the workers are determined to ensure Oyebanji serves a second term in office.

The NULGE President highlighted several achievements of the Oyebanji administration, including payment of five months’ salary arrears and N70,000 minimum wage. He also mentioned the construction of modern office complexes and payment of gratuities.

Olatunde vowed that Ekiti workers would mobilize support and resources to ensure Oyebanji’s re-election. He said the governor’s administration has brought progress and stability to the local government system in the state.

The meeting was attended by Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Local Government Administration, and Directors across the 16 Local Government Councils and 22 Local Council Development Areas.

The workers’ support for Oyebanji’s re-election bid is expected to boost the governor’s campaign.
