Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has announced his return to plenary, expressing appreciation to colleagues who stood by him during what he described as a difficult period.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Bello El-Rufai said it was encouraging to reconnect with fellow lawmakers, noting that the support shown to him would remain unforgettable.

“Plenary yesterday. It was nice to be back with some of my colleagues. The affection and solidarity from some of them during these trying times is something I will never forget,” he said.

The lawmaker stated that despite his return to legislative duties, his immediate attention remains on his family, particularly his father, wives, and younger siblings.

“My focus is still on my father, his wives and the younger siblings,” he added.

Bello El-Rufai also acknowledged that activities in his constituency office had slowed in recent weeks but assured residents that efforts were underway to resume full operations.

“My office has been slower than usual but I will catch up again. Kaduna North will always be our focal point,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to public service, stressing the seriousness with which he approaches his oath of office.

“An oath is as serious to me as politics is as serious to some of them,” he stated.

The lawmaker further apologised for the delay in announcing details of a proposed Health Insurance Initiative, attributing the setback to bureaucratic processes.

“Apologies for the delayed announcement on the Health Insurance Initiative. The fault is on bureaucracy but I will provide the update soon,” he said.

According to him, the names of beneficiaries under the programme would be made public in line with the transparency policy introduced since 2023.

“The names of the beneficiaries will be stated in line with our transparency initiative since 2023,” he noted.

Bello El-Rufai also restated his campaign priorities, saying education, healthcare and support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises would remain central to his representation.

“Education, health care and support to MSMEs as a collective. That’s what we ran on and that’s what we will continue to do, Insha Allah,” he said.
