Businessman and political commentator Isaac Fayose has announced the death of his wife following a prolonged battle with cancer.

Fayose disclosed the development in a post shared on Instagram on Saturday, where he uploaded an image of a candlelight alongside a brief emotional tribute.

“Rest in peace my darling wife, odabo oyinbo mi,” he wrote.

In another post, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose shared photographs of his late wife while bidding her farewell.

The announcement comes months after Fayose publicly revealed that his wife had been battling cancer while receiving treatment in Australia.

In March, Fayose had opened up about the emotional and physical toll of her illness, explaining that her health had deteriorated significantly by the time he arrived to visit his family abroad.

According to him, his wife, who would normally receive him warmly at the airport, was too weak to do so because of her condition.

“My wife is not feeling well. When I got here, she was very weak. The same woman who usually picks me up at the airport couldn’t come, so I had to take an Uber,” he had said.

Fayose also recounted how he became his wife’s caregiver during her illness, preparing meals for her and staying by her side as she struggled to speak.

“She used to cook for me, but now I find myself cooking for her. She couldn’t cook or talk. I sat beside her and sang her favourite song; she held my hand as I sang,” he added emotionally.

The death of Fayose’s wife has since drawn condolences from supporters and followers on social media.
