The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the importance of inter-agency collaboration in strengthening public safety, security management and effective criminal justice administration in the state.

Ojajuni stated this during separate familiarisation visits to the Ogun State commands of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, as part of efforts to deepen operational synergy and institutional cooperation among security agencies.

During his visit to the FRSC command, the police commissioner was received by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, alongside senior officers of the corps. Discussions centred on improving collaboration in traffic management, highway patrol operations, accident prevention, emergency response coordination and public safety advocacy across Ogun State.

Ojajuni commended the FRSC for what he described as its professionalism and commitment to reducing road traffic crashes in the state. He also praised the FRSC Special Marshal Initiative, noting that it promotes community participation, civic responsibility and support for traffic management and public safety.

The police commissioner later visited the Nigerian Correctional Service, where he was received by the Controller of Corrections, Abioye Kamoru Adesina, and senior officials of the command.

At the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation within the criminal justice system, custodial security, inmate management and rehabilitation processes.

Ojajuni commended ongoing reforms within the correctional service, particularly programmes targeted at inmate education, vocational training, behavioural reformation and rehabilitation.

According to him, the reforms are crucial to reducing recidivism and ensuring that inmates are transformed into responsible citizens upon reintegration into society.

During the visits, the commissioner also presented copies of The New Dawn, the official newspaper of the Nigeria Police Force, to the heads of the agencies as part of efforts to strengthen institutional relationships and improve inter-agency communication.

Ojajuni appreciated the leadership and personnel of both agencies for their contributions to public safety and national security, stressing that sustainable security management can only be achieved through intelligence sharing, coordinated operations and mutual institutional support among relevant stakeholders.
