A Kaduna lawmaker, Daniel Amos, has raised an alarm over the abduction of 15 farmers in the state’s Sanga Local Government Area, calling for coordinated security efforts to secure their release.
The farmers were taken from Ungwan Nungu community while returning home from their farms on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Amos, representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, noted that the incident has heightened tension in the area as families await updates on the whereabouts of the victims.
In a statement on Tuesday, Amos described the attack as “cruel, senseless and deeply regrettable” adding that the incident underscores the worsening insecurity rural communities continue to face.
“Our people deserve to live without fear. Targeting peaceful, hardworking community members is unacceptable and must not be tolerated under any circumstance,” he said.
In a plea to residents of Ungwan Nungu and surrounding areas, Hon. Amos urged everyone to stay calm and avoid any actions that could jeopardize the safety of the abducted farmers.
He appealed for vigilance and cooperation with security agencies.
Amos also called for a coordinated security response to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped victims.
“I call on the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in the search for the abducted persons.
“We expect intensified surveillance, intelligence-driven operations and the prompt arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators,” he stated.
He expressed solidarity with the affected families, assuring them that efforts were underway to secure the release of the victims.
“All of us feel the pain of the families. We will continue to push for every necessary action until the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones,” he added.
Amos reiterated that the safety and well-being of constituents remain his top priority, insisting that communities must not lose hope despite the rising security challenges.
