Rabiu Kwankwaso, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader and 2023 presidential candidate, has slammed President Tinubu’s government, accusing them of lacking the political will to tackle Nigeria’s insecurity.

Speaking in Kano while unveiling the new 2000 Neighborhood Security Network on Tuesday, Kwankwaso urged President Tinubu to rise to the occasion and answer his Commander In Chief status by tackling insecurity, as he unveiled the new 2000 Neighborhood Security Network.

The NNPP National Leader praised Nigeria’s military for their bravery in global conflicts like Dafur and Liberia, but lamented that the government isn’t doing enough to support them in fighting insecurity at home.

He said today many Nigerians are being killed innocently and their killers get away with their atrocities as if nothing happened. “The Government must apologize to Nigerians for their laxity in the fight against insecurity”.

“When I was Defense Minister, I knew the strength of the Nigeria Military. They are courageous, we need some semblance of Political Wills to make them do the needful

“Historically, the Nigerian Military were the best that served across the globe and not only did well but came out with flaying colors as the best. President Tinubu should rise to the occasion and equip them with all they required to change the narratives.”

Kwankwaso explained that if he becomes the President of Nigeria come 2027, he will ensure the recruitment of over one million military personnel.

He said, any government that fails to protect lives and properties, that government has woefully failed and has no business being in government.

The NNPP Presidential hopeful, noted that the federal government must works extra mile to incorporate the kind of the Kano Neighborhood Security Network into the Military to boost not only their morals but to ensure together they tackle the problems.
