The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated workers across the state and the country as Nigeria marks the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration, praising their role in sustaining economic growth and public service delivery.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Lagos State APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, described workers as central to the continued development of Lagos, noting that their dedication and resilience remain key drivers of the state’s progress.
Ojelabi said the workforce has consistently contributed to Lagos’ reputation as a “centre of excellence,” adding that their efforts have been instrumental in sustaining development across critical sectors.
He also acknowledged the contributions of workers nationwide under the administrations of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stating that their collective efforts have supported economic stability and governance outcomes.
According to him, the APC-led government remains committed to the welfare of workers through the timely payment of salaries and continuous improvement of labour conditions in line with global standards.
“The dedication of workers, including youths, women, and men across various sectors, continues to strengthen governance and development,” he said.
Ojelabi expressed optimism that sustained cooperation between government and the workforce would further enhance prosperity in Lagos State and contribute to national growth.
The statement concluded with a goodwill message extending appreciation and best wishes to workers on the occasion of the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration.
