Benue head of service dies after brief illness

The Benue State Government has confirmed the death of the state Head of Service, Dr Agbgbo Ode, who reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday following a brief illness.

The announcement was made in a statement released on Saturday by the Secretary to the State Government, Deborah Aber.

Aber said the government received the news of his passing with deep sorrow, describing the late civil servant as a committed administrator whose service to the state would be remembered for years.

She noted that Dr Ode played a major role in strengthening the state civil service through his experience, dedication and professionalism.

According to her, his wealth of knowledge in public administration, dependable leadership and remarkable contributions to governance made him one of the most respected figures in the state workforce.

The government also described the deceased as an outstanding technocrat who carried out his duties with integrity and excellence.

Aber extended the condolences of the state government to the family of the late Head of Service, members of the civil service and all those affected by the loss.

She added that his death was a painful loss not only to his loved ones but also to the entire Benue State public service.
