The Kano State Government has introduced a ₦20,000 festive allowance for public servants across the state as part of measures to ease financial pressure ahead of Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The approval was disclosed on Tuesday in Kano through a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Tanko-Muhammad.

According to the announcement, the payment is intended to provide additional support to workers during the festive period and to help them better prepare for the celebrations.

The intervention follows the recent disbursement of May salaries to employees of both state and local government administrations.

The statement clarified that the benefit will apply to civil servants from Grade Levels 01 to 14 serving in ministries, departments, agencies, and local government councils across the state.

Governor Abba Yusuf explained that the initiative was designed in response to prevailing economic conditions and the increased financial obligations typically associated with festive seasons.

He noted that the administration considers workers central to the functioning of government, describing them as the backbone of public service delivery in the state.

The governor further stated that the financial support is expected to reduce pressure on households and enable workers to observe the Eid celebrations with greater ease and dignity.

He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to policies aimed at improving staff welfare, enhancing productivity, and maintaining an efficient civil service system.

Extending his goodwill message, he also wished civil servants and residents of Kano State a peaceful Eid celebration, while praying for continued unity, stability, and progress across the state and the country.
