Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has extended Eid al-Adha greetings to Muslims in Lagos State, Nigeria, and across the world, urging citizens to uphold the values of sacrifice, unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Obasa described Eid al-Adha as a sacred season that symbolises obedience, gratitude, reflection, and selflessness, stressing that the lessons of the celebration remain vital to national unity and development.
He said the festival offers Nigerians another opportunity to renew their commitment to the growth and prosperity of Lagos State and the country at large.
The Speaker urged citizens to continue supporting leadership and policies aimed at promoting development and improving the welfare of the people.
Obasa also commended Nigerians, especially members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress, for their participation in the recently concluded party primaries.
According to him, the massive turnout recorded during the exercise reflects the strength of Nigeria’s democracy and the confidence party members have in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.
He further encouraged Nigerians to celebrate responsibly with their families and loved ones while offering prayers for continued peace, stability, and progress in Lagos State and the country.
On behalf of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Obasa wished Muslims a peaceful, joyous, and fulfilling Eid al-Adha celebration.
