Obi built nothing in Anambra – Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor and politician Yul Edochie has intensified his criticism of former Anambra State governor and ex-presidential candidate, Peter Obi, alleging that the latter failed to deliver meaningful development during his time in office.

In a social media post on Thursday, Edochie claimed that Obi left no tangible legacy in Anambra State, questioning his capacity to lead Nigeria.

“Peter Obi built nothing in Anambra when he was Governor. No schools built by him, no factories, no companies, no malls, no major projects, nothing,” he wrote.

The actor further alleged that Obi did not empower individuals during his tenure, insisting that no resident of the state could attribute their success to the former governor’s support.

“He didn’t even build his own people, never invested in anybody. No Anambra man can tell you he’s successful today because of Peter Obi,” Edochie added.

Raising doubts about Obi’s presidential ambition, he questioned what the former governor could offer at the national level.

“You can’t build your state, you can’t build your people, so what are you going to do as President?” he asked.

The latest remarks come amid ongoing controversy sparked by Edochie’s earlier comments, where he argued that Obi’s political challenges were not rooted in conventional factors such as campaign structure or party platform.

In that earlier post, Edochie had stated, “It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that,” suggesting that the issues confronting Obi’s political aspirations were fundamental.

He also dismissed Obi’s reported association with the African Democratic Congress, describing it as ineffective.

“Any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival. A total waste of time,” he said.

Edochie further claimed that Obi might already be aware of these challenges but had chosen to ignore them.

“I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it. But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now,” he added.

His comments have continued to generate mixed reactions on social media, with critics dismissing his claims as unfounded, while supporters argue that Obi’s record and political base remain strong despite the attacks.
