Tinubu’ll be disgraced out of office if he doesn’t tackle insecurity – Primate Ayodele

The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Elijah Ayodele, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that his administration could face serious political consequences if it fails to take decisive steps to address the country’s worsening security situation.

The cleric issued the warning while reacting to the recent abduction of schoolchildren and their principals in Oyo State, an incident that has triggered widespread concern over the safety of citizens and the effectiveness of the nation’s security architecture.

In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele expressed frustration over the persistent cases of kidnappings, killings and attacks across the country, insisting that the government has not done enough to guarantee the security of Nigerians.

According to him, the continued wave of insecurity reflects a failure of leadership and has left many citizens living in fear. He lamented that despite repeated warnings and suggestions, authorities have failed to implement lasting solutions to the crisis.

“Our politicians are heartless and satanic to the nation, and there is no way nemesis will not fight. Even our clerics have failed us, including security operatives. If it was an advanced country, we would have gotten a tangible solution now,” he said.

The cleric questioned why Nigeria continues to struggle with insecurity despite the availability of solutions, alleging that those in positions of authority often ignore valuable advice.

“I don’t understand why Nigeria doesn’t align with God’s plan; what is wrong with our system? Even those who are in power, when you give them a solution to this problem, they see you as a jester,” he added.

Ayodele further argued that the latest kidnapping incident should serve as a wake-up call to the Tinubu administration, stressing that the protection of lives must remain the government’s foremost responsibility.

He warned that the security crisis could have severe political implications for the President if urgent action is not taken to reverse the trend.

“What is happening is a shame to CAN, PFN and Islamic bodies. God is not happy with this government, and if Tinubu doesn’t do all that is needed, he will be disgraced out of office,” Ayodele stated.

The cleric maintained that insecurity has become one of the defining challenges of the current administration and cautioned that public confidence in the government could continue to erode if citizens do not see meaningful improvements.

He also criticised Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, over his handling of the kidnapping incident, arguing that political activities should not take precedence over urgent security concerns.

“The government is missing it every day, and even the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, hasn’t handled this well. Despite all of these, he still went for a rally declaring his ambition. The blood of the innocent is crying,” he said.

Ayodele further insisted that President Tinubu’s administration has performed poorly in tackling insecurity, warning that failure to secure the release of the abducted children and address the broader security crisis could damage the President’s re-election prospects.

“Tinubu has failed woefully in terms of security. Nigeria is in pain, and if these children die, Tinubu should forget about a second term because this is how it started during Jonathan,” he warned.

The cleric also claimed he had repeatedly warned about security threats in Oyo State and around schools, but alleged that the warnings were ignored by the relevant authorities.

“I had warned about Oyo like ten times in my video. I made mention of schools several times, but they didn’t listen. The president must do whatever he has to do to ensure the safety of these children,” he added.

Ayodele’s comments come amid growing calls for stronger security measures and renewed efforts to curb kidnappings and violent crimes across the country, particularly attacks targeting schools and vulnerable communities.
